It was a bit unreal and daunting. You’ve been watching them for so long that you forget they are real, you know, because they seem kind of fictional. When I first went to the set and saw them (Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint), I wanted to touch them to see if they were real.

We went to the studios. That was so daunting for me because you’ve been watching this thing forever and suddenly it’s in front of you. And you can’t believe it.

I really wanted to go, because if I didn’t I never would have known, and I’d have been annoyed with myself. They had to pick someone, so why couldn’t I have a go? It’s like in the script, when Harry’s trying to encourage some students to be in Dumbledore’s Army, he says, “Think of all the great wizards in history, and if they can do it, why can’t we?” It was kind of like that.

It was this feeling the whole time like I shouldn’t be here among all these stars and professionals. I was trying to keep my distance because I wanted to watch everyone. But they want you to feel at home and be part of it, and it became normal very quickly.

I used to discuss Harry Potter on the Internet but I don’t do it anymore because now there are comments about myself. I loved to be in the line to get cinema tickets and make my own Harry Potter T-shirts. But that is not a very high prize to pay to be a part of the Harry Potter movies.

But Ireland is nice to come back to, too. We live in the country here and you feel so detached from the world, and that’s quite nice.

I loved her disarming honesty, her unassuming wisdom and her innocent purity. She has no masks or insecurities. She simply is.

I love London. I’ll be back regularly though. It’s not like I’m going ’til October. During the months I’m there a lot I’ll stay but when there’s only a few days I’ll be back a lot. I have to get a chaperone over there. I don’t know much about it yet. But my mum and dad won’t be coming because they have jobs, my brothers and sisters, their own lives.

I just love watching one person on a stage holding the whole audience captivated. Whereas in film you’re very protected, you can mess up, you have that freedom and you can always ask to do it again.

I did check [the Internet] but then I got kind of upset because, you know, there are some people who will love you and some people who won’t, and it will never happen that everyone will agree, so you just have to try and do your best. I have to do what I think Luna will be, and if that pleases some people then that’s good.
