Luna Lovegood : Biography & Facts
We first see Luna in the Order of Phoenix, when Ginny mentions, “Oh, there’s just Loony Lovegood in here.”
Then she quickly becomes embedded in everyone’s mind with her strange and, to put it mildly, completely absurd behavior. As the radish earrings dangle from her ears, nobody can help but admire her character’s silliness.
A Ravenclaw, she is described as having protuberant eyes that give her a permanently surprised look. She has a strange attire: she sports a necklace made out of Butterbeer corks and places her wand tucked behind her left ear. According to Ginny, Luna will believe things as long as there’s no proof of them. Her comments are generally embarrassingly honest, which makes others very uncomfortable. Though, this is what categorizes her as absurd and an easy target for fellow peers making her lack any friends. For example, Hogwarts students, those who know her anyway, call her as Loony Lovegood. Her possessions are also being stolen year round and she is forced to place notices requesting her belongings at the end of the year.
But, she has shown tremendous loyalty to Harry and the others when she fought in the Ministry of Magic Battle. She develops from a way-weird girl to a real friend. Though Harry is not as close to Luna anymore, Ginny Weasley is definitely friends with her as she tells Harry how nice it was of him to take her along to Slughorn’s Party in the Half-Blood Prince, where Luna is not as evident.
Luna also had a very interesting role in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. She was brought into the book on the day of Bill and Fleur’s wedding. She returned to Hogwarts and was sort of the leader of the DA along with Ginny Weasley and Neville Longbottom. She was kidnapped in the book by the death eaters and was rescued by the trio from the Malfoy Manor.
After the DH, JK Rowling announced some of the futuristic characteristics of various people, including Luna. We know now, that Luna Lovegood became a famous naturalist and married the great-grandson of the famous author Newt Scamander, Rolf. They have twin sons, Lorcan and Lysander, who are several years younger than the Potter and Weasley kids.
