Harry has always been sort of embarrassed by Luna’s uncomfortable yet honest replies to various inquiries and her general opinions. Like the time she says that some people refer to her as Loony Lovegood. Harry is mortified because he had also referred to her as Loony at one point of time.

However, Luna has secured a special place in everyone’s hearts with the loyalty she displayed in the Ministry of Magic. Harry even invited her over to Slughorn’s party, and though at first he couldn’t believe he was actually saying that, he enjoyed tremendously once Luna began her out-of-the-world theories on Mistletoes being infested with nargles, as he thought that this was what made getting Luna with him fun.

In the Deathly Hallows, Harry Potter was really touched by Luna’s gesture when he saw her room painted with his, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Neville’s portraits.

He also set out to rescue Luna if he could demonstrating that he considered Luna a true friend for whom he could stand in the way of death.
