Evanna Lynch’s Fashion Photoshoot by Katrin Thomas
Audition
with Miss Evanna Lynch
The shoot was for ponytail magazine. Pictures can be viewed via this link
She had arrived even earlier than the already early calltime, and seemed even more petit within the environment I had chosen – one of those locations that everybody in the industry seemed to have shot in or filmed in or just met for a drink on one of those occasions. Our morning there started rather quiet, with maybe a slight touch of ‘ghostly’ spirit here and there. Cold rushes and electrical issues. Evanna’s delicate earieness seemed spot on – highlighted through the massive castle-like furnitures she would choose to cuddle up in.
She had asked me if she could bring her cousin along; surely enough and another lovely person on set.
She would stand ‘in spot’ for me during the ’setting ups’ while Evanna’s look got challenged by the classic never wanting to end hair and make up sessions.
Evanna alias Luna Lovegood ( Harry Potter). She wanted to be different and not associated with Luna. No Luna. Don’t call me that. In her sweet and soft spoken ways.
After all she is Evanna. And from Ireland.
What I had asked her to do would be memorizing certain movie monologues I had given her to read beforehand, and than recall them or step into a certain mood based on those lines.
Evanna had brought a favorite book along that she thought was good for our ’story’, the little film we would make that day. And read me a short passage which she wanted to use during me photographing her. ..” I’m not afraid to compete. It’s just the opposite. Don’t you see that? I’m afraid I will compete – that’s what scares me. That’s why I quit the Theatre Department. Just because I’m so horribly conditioned to accept everybody else’s values, and just because I like applause and people to rave about me, doesn’t make it right. I’m ashamed of it. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of not having the courage to be an absolute nobody. I’m sick of myself and everybody else that wants to make some kind of a splash.” *
The haunted long day ended not as early – instead of Evanna leaving for Ireland that evening to be able to participate in a dance performance class the next day, she even changed her flight for me.
