We’re finally at the end of another year. In my personal opinion, 2009 went by in a rush, and I honestly don’t remember any dull moment as Evanna Lynch fans here on the web.

From stunning photoshoots to amazing interviews, Evanna was  busy year round.

As Harry Potter fans, we had the wonderful treat of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, and got the year wrapped up with that amazing teaser trailer of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

This has been a decade of Harry Potter, and for that I’m eternally thankful to JK Rowling for creating the world of Hogwarts, and giving us unforgettable characters like Albus Dumbeldore, Severus Snape, Remus Lupin, Luna Lovegood, Nymphadora Tonks and countless others.

Moving on, LunaFans.net in itself has achieved what I never could imagine when I first started it in 2007: Luna Fans has just turned three years old!

It has been one helluva of a journey, and I’ve been most fortunate to have met people who are as ardent fans as I am, both online and offline.

Through Luna Fans, I got the chance of talking to Evanna Lynch herself, which has to be the pinnacle of all other achievements. She’s an amazingly humble person, and I wish her all the best of luck for her future endeavours.

Wrapping this up, I only have one thing to say to all of LF’s reader:

The Irish Times’ Film Correspondent Michael Dwyer in a new article delivers his verdict on the best, worst, most pretentious and most offensive films of 2009. Along with this, he also lists best actors/actresses and other notable summaries.

A new video of Evanna Lynch, along with veteran co-star Bonnie Wright at Nickelodeon’s KCA has surfaced online. You can see Evanna and Bonnie seated next to young starlet Miranda Cosgrove of the iCarly fame in the video.

As has been noted quite often in candid quotes from Evanna Lynch, she’s often mistaken to be quite younger than she actually is. here’s a small quotation from the 18 year old actress:

The 18-year-old – who plays Luna Lovegood in the films – says fans reckon she’s a lot younger than she really is.

‘Everyone just thinks I’m really young and that I look about 12,’ she tells Now Online.

Co-star Tom Felton – who plays Draco Malfoy – backs Evanna up.

‘I remember that interview you did where that lady thought you were 13,’ he says.

‘Then she tried to blag it was a compliment.’

IrishCentral ran an article with a list of Top 10 Irish Movie Stars to watch in 2010, and the list includes Evanna Lynch.

Evanna Lynch. In the same year as Saoirse Ronan comes a second young Irishwoman who makes it in Hollywood. Her time in Harry Potter as Luna Lovegood will serve her well  and like Ronan she is only getting started. Big years ahead.

Along with Evanna, another Potter castmate, Brendan Gleeson who plays Mad-Eye Moody is featured on it.

All of you must remember the beautiful photoshoot Evanna Lynch did for the Irish designer Ciaran Sweeney, right?

You might also remember this article where a young designer, Jimena Rilova talks about participating in the Ciaran Sweeney Collection where Evanna Lynch modelled.

The translation of the article pretty much was atrocious, to say the least.

The supplement of Life, from the Irish news “Irish Independent”, illustrates one of their articles with a design of Jimena Rilova for Ciaran Sweeney. Modelling it is Evanna Lynch.

The young designer, Jimena Rilova, a regular participant of past editions of The Fashion Catwalk of León and Castilla like an emerging creator has recently jumped to the public light with one of her ideas. She has made it out of our frontiers this time, specifically in Ireland (place where she had been working from three months ago with the signature Ciaran Sweeney), of a hand of a velvet dress modeled by the actress Evanna Lynch (who plays Luna in the Harry Potter saga). Thanks to an article published last 28th of November in the dominical supplement Life of the Irish Independent news (one of the most bought nationally), Rilova has showed her work in the exclusive Irish signature, famous for it’s colourful creations elaborated with hand painted velvet, and her clients as internationally like Madonna, Elton John or Kylie Minogue.
To realize the design of the dress she got inspired in the tones that the actress often uses (greens and blues) and, having in mind her thin figure, she created a garment of a romantic aspect, rich in volumes and with original brocades. In all of the creating process, that was prolonged in four intense work days, Rilova enhanced the dye of the fabric because of the “passion that supposes witnessing how it starts taking color and shape, first on the patron and then on the model”.
After the first try with Evanna, very emotive for Rilova because of “how satisfied the model was with the result”, then proceeded to the definitive sewing, that hasn’t stop getting praises in the display of the boutique that has the signature in Dublín. There is only one problem and is that, how the designer agrees “is too expensive for any wallet”, because the price of it to the public is of 895 euros.
“Each garment of Ciaran Sweeney is like a work of art, because its made between two people in total craftwork procedure” tells Rilova, method that she also uses for her signature of her line of house and it’s complements.

Regarding The Fashion Catwalk of León and Castilla, she confesses, proud, that “it opened me a lot of door and allowed, for the first time, how a catwalk develops, enjoying my garments on professional models”.

Over the weekend, at HMV signing, Emma from Snitch Seeker sat down with Evanna Lynch, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis and Jessie Cave for an interview.

Evanna talks about Harry Potter and the DeathlyHallows, Luna Lovegood, Rhys Ifans and more!

SnitchSeeker: Evanna, what was it like shooting in Wales for the Shell Cottage scenes in Deathly Hallows?

Evanna: It was really nice. It was like a little beach away from everything. It felt really real because it was not a set. It was really open. It was freezing. It was kind of like home though, as well … a little place in the middle of nowhere.

SnitchSeeker: Have you been designing anything this year for the films? I know before you did the earrings and the lion hat.

Evanna: Not really, no, ’cause I have exams. I’m a bit busy. But I did try a few things on the Lovegood house. It’ll be really fun when you see that. So colorful. It’s so Luna.

SnitchSeeker: What’s it like working with Rhys Ifans?

Evanna: It was brilliant because he’s really so happy just being by himself. He’s really honest too, as well. Sometimes the clothes, in a way, are a bit out there. Sometimes when I’m on set I feel like I can’t talk to people in these clothes. But with him we were like a little group, a little unit.

Evanna Lynch, like we told you, was at the HMV store in London earlier today to promote the Blu-Ray release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by signing copies of the movie sets for fans.

Along with Evanna, veteran HP co-stars Matthew Lewis, Tom Felton and Jessie Cave also attended the signing.

A crew member working on the sets of Deathly Hallows has released information about the filming of Hogwarts Express earlier in the year

Filming with the train did take place during September (I was there) but the shoot only lasted a day and a half and comprised of five runs. Because of the weather, they only managed to film on three or four of those. The location was Rannoch Moor (where they did that cool flying shot for HBP in 2007) and I was told by one of the studio chaps that they were filming exteriors for a scene with Neville, Luna and Ginny on the train. There were none of the actors present and the train was filled with local children from Fort William. Source

Also, the very first teaser trailer for the Deathly Hallows is now out in clear definition! It’s a brilliant footage from the movie – as well as excessively full of spoilers, so use your own descrition! This is the same footage that is available on the Half Blood Prince DVD.

And lastly, don’t forget, Evanna Lynch will be at the HMV store on Oxford Street, in London, England. If you’re going, make sure to head early – it’s a first-come-first-serve basis!

She’s gained a legion of dedicated fans from playing Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films, but did you know that Evanna Lynch herself is quite the Harry Potter fan and has been long before she was even part of the films? When she was younger, Evanna used to write to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, asking if she have a role in the films. Funnily enough, J.K Rowling has written back to Evanna on occasions.
