As we reminded you earlier, Evanna Lynch is set to attend the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince premiere today along with Tom Felton, and the event starts at 6:00pm local time along with a meet-and-greet session and a screening at the Village Cinema.

If you’re following us at Twitter, you must have read our concern for the premiere’s programme owing to the wildfires around Athens, but the situation is slowly getting under control and it actually is affecting the region northwards to Athens.

Also, Tom Felton tweeted about leaving for Athens, which means everything is supposed to go as planned.

For all HP enthusiasts in Greece, HPGreekFans is holding a fan meet outside the venue at 5:00 pm, so make sure to drop in at the festivities!

Irish Central yesterday posted an article talking solely about their Irish pride, Evanna Lynch and her role in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

With all the buzz around Evanna – she’s uber-famous in Ireland and has international fan sites – I assumed she was one of the main characters in “Order of the Phoenix” and “Half-Blood Prince.”

However, her screen time is rather limited, and she only has a few lines.

And yet, Miss Lynch won audiences over and completely stole the show.

When Luna’s first shown wearing her lion hat, with a deadpan expression on her face, the entire theater broke out into laughter.

In fact, during all of Luna’s scenes, I found myself smiling.

With the few lines she has, Lynch has managed to create an incredible impact with her character. Her voice, expressions and line delivery are quirky and endearing, and I found myself wishing her character would show up a little more often throughout the film.

Now onto some inetersting tidbits, Chris Cousins, a friend of Matt Lewis’s, tweeted at his account about the cricket match that was in planning for some weeks now. He says that some of the Potter girls, including Evanna Lynch and Bonnie Wright were present at the event.

Tom, Matt, Dan, and Alfie out of the cast played. Some of the girls were there too (Bonnie, Evy etc)..

As Potterheads should know all the Potter lads are big fans of cricket, and they’re doing this charity match for Easling Cricket Club, to support the hospital where Dan Radcliffe’s longtime stunt double David Holmes is admitted after being paralysed at the sets of the Harry Potter movie earlier this year. A picture of teams – Gryffindor and Slytherin – can be seen here. Gryffindor won by 4 wickets.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVANNA LYNCH!

It’s still saturday, do mine ears hear? No. It’s officially 16th! A very happy birthday to Evanna, indeed! (As mentioned, the birthday section was to go live at Auckland (New Zealand) time, and in Auckland, as I publish this post it is Sunday 01:50, almost two hour beyond 16th August) So come on and let’s join in the celebration of our dear Miss Lynch, a fan like us whose dreams have come true.

I take this opportunity to thank all those who helped us, suggesting things here and there and helping us to tweak the little project we did. Without all your support, we wouldn’t have been able to do this.

This is a milestone that we – LunaFans.net, Ev-online.net and Evanna-lynch.org – have achieved.

The project may be not what you expected, but it is a proof of how people from all around the globe have come forward to show their appreciation for a fan like yourselves.

This little thing of coming forward and participating shows us the love that Evanna Lynch holds in all your hearts, and I’m sure she appreciates the respect – and I stress the word, respect we give her.

On this occassion, her eighteenth birthday when she comes of age, I would again like to urge one very important thing that some people tend to forget, Evanna’s not a doll on display in a Museum. She is a human, has a private life which we must, and ought to respect. Her being a celeb puts her in obvious limelight, but do we have to be so severe in our appreciation?

I think not. And I am sure most of you feel the same way, leaving out some exceptions. I hope those exceptions get their priorities set right.

A very detailed set report from Deathly Hallows has been released by fans who got the chance to visit Leavesden Studios recently.

They talk about all the new sets for the seventh and eighth films, including the Lovegood home, Malfoy Manor, numerous camping set-ups, Grimmauld Place, Shell Cottage and much more.

Stuff – and very interesting and psoilery related to both the Lovegoods follow below:

While there, our heads were whipping left and right as we saw Rupert, James and Oliver (one of which had a bandage over his head and ear), Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley), Emma, Tom, Bonnie and Evanna (both sporting hair nets so as not to mess up their ornate hair… presumably for the wedding scene about to be filmed), Stan (Krum… who sat at the table next to us and ate lunch by himself), Warwick Davis and his son, Domhnall Gleeson (had prosthetic scars on the left side of his face), several wedding guests and actor’s doubles. One of those was, we firmly believe, was Xenophilius’ double. He was wearing mustard colored corduroys, a pale shirt with a yellow waist coat over the top that was covered in flowers and shoulder length blondish-white hair.

The Lovegood house set complete with Dirigible plums (bright orange plants) growing outside, is built with a stone base with “the right side of the house pitted with holes where Death Eater spells had hit (squib explosions)” The report also states that  “they were prepping the house again for a much bigger version of that fight, apparently.  They were adding even more squibs for the new fight.”

4- What do you want to do after Harry Potter has ended? Are you considering a long-term career in acting? Will we ever see you in anything else, or is it university like Emma after Deathly Hallows?

hmmmmm. That’s my answer! Well no, I don’t do short answers, ha! I definitely want to do more acting. Definitely. I love acting and I have so much to learn from it and so many more people to meet. The film has been the best experience of my life and has opened so many doors for me. I could never be content now to just shrink back and not take hold of all these opportunities. However it is not what I want to do forever, more something I feel I should explore while I’m young. I do feel that there is not enough creative control for actors, unless perhaps to older veteran actors who have proven themselves versatile and have built up strong personal relationships with their directors which earns them trust…but that takes a long time. I think as a young actor you are very much protected and obvious as it may sound, directed. It’s just part of my personality to feel uncomfortable with anyone having power over me. I love it of course, I just know I will not do it forever. Acting is an art, but film is an industry and we are all here to make money. I have aspirations to be a director and a writer and a dancer and all those fanciful things so I know acting is good for me and introduces me to amazing people passionate about these things too. And I enjoy it so why would I quit? I have so much to learn about this and from this and I do still feel like I work hard. Basically laziness is what I fear, and as soon as I stop stretching myself I will move on. I have fantasies about doing West End and amazing live shows like that. I love it and am always inspired and awestruck when you go to a show and witness how one small person can hold a whole audience spellbound. So someday. Right now people tell me my voice is too little for the stage so I need to work hard til I get to that point! After Deathly Hallows though… is there an after??? Say it isn’t so!

1- Out of all the actors on Harry Potter, who have you enjoyed working with the most?

I would have to say I’ve enjoyed most working with the people I have become closest to. You hear of a lot of hierarchy and people being unwilling to engage with others because they are so concentrated on their work and personally I really admire those people who can strike a nice balance of being a nice, friendly and relaxed presence whilst also being talented, hard-working actors. I think it is essential to keep your feet on the ground and make an effort to work WITH people because actors are trying to portray real people. I used to look up to people like Emma and Bonnie and Matt and found it hard to imagine myself fitting in with them. But they extended the hand of friendship and bridged the gap and eventually I was able to see myself as one of the cast. I like to feel comfortable and relaxed with the other actors because that way we can work off one another and it doesn’t have to be acting, you can just be. It’s like when you’re young and you play pretend with a friend. You don’t have that annoying voice of doubt that wonders what the other person is thinking of you and prevents you from playing with whatever character you are. You believe you and your friend are those characters so it is easy to crawl into their skin and just be. You can forget yourself.

And if all that wasn’t enough, a week later I got the chance to talk to Evanna Lynch who plays Luna and Matthew Lewis who plays Neville when they came to Dublin for the Irish premiere of the movie.

The pair were a joy to interview and like their fellow cast members, look so grown up. Matt is much better looking himself than the Neville character he has to portray and the pair had plenty to say about the costumes and make up they have to endure (but very much enjoy) as part and parcel of their work on Harry Potter.
